Filter Media Consulting Closes Doors

June 4, 2009

After a half-century career in nonwovens, Bergmann retires.

Lutz Bergmann has retired after 50 years in the nonwovens industry. Mr. Bergmann’s consultancy, Filter Media Consulting, will close its doors this month after thirty years in business. After leaving Milliken & Company in 1978, Mr. Bergmann created his filtration consulting business in LaGrange, GA. His filtration newsletter was launched in September 1983 and published its last issue this month.

Filter Media Consulting also organized 34 International Filtration Conferences around the globe between 1992 and 2006, with five conferences taking place in Japan. Other locations included Korea, Singapore, Czech Republic and Switzerland and 21 conferences were held in Stuttgart, Germany.

“We are grateful to so many of our business friends,” said Mr. Bergmann, “a few became friends for life, in finally saying goodbye it hurts, it humbles and we are looking forward to a pleasant ‘autumn of life’ among our close-knit family.”
