January 21, 2009

Orion system decreased CO2, greenhouse emissions

Wipes converter Tufco Technologies has received the Environmental Stewardship Award from Orion Energy Systems for their efforts in reducing energy consumption through the use of Orion’s Compact Modular, high intensity fluorescent lighting platform at its Ashwaubenon, WI manufacturing facility. The retrofit will allow Tufco to reduce its related electricity consumption 53% as Orion’s lighting system will decrease the amount of kilowatt hours used by Tufco from 1.3 million kWh to 617,000kWh. The reductions will result in decreased carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions as well as its electricity costs, which will be reduced by an estimated 53%.
