Expanded Repair Services

January 1, 2009

Menges Roller Co., a full-service roller manufacturer, has announced its expanded repair services for rollers used in converting, paper, nonwovens, film and foil industries. "We can often relieve the need to buy new rollers," said Matthew Menges, president. "Quality repairs restore the roller as good as when it was new, and often even better when its reengineered using the latest radius geometry. Worn surfaces are also welded up, leaving a harder surface, and other repairs such as rebalancing really help as well.

According to Menges, a lot of manufacturers do not realize that repaired rollers can cost them less than 20% of the cost of new rollers. "If a customer does decide to buy a new roller, we will also repair the old one at a discount. Well repair it and they will have it for a spare," said Mr. Menges. Preventing downtime is important to operating budgets, with the backup roller as part of an operations plan.
