Freudenberg Vliesstoffe KG introduced its first Eco-Interlining range at this year's Munich Fabric Start, which took place this week. As global market leader for fusible interlinings, the company now offers a range of original new products made of natural, regenerated and recycled fibers. According to the company, the Vilene interlinings outperform even the strictest regulations on the use of pollutants in clothing. They are free from AZO dyes, formaldehyde and APEO; they are also compostable and biodegradable.
"Today's rising crude oil prices are visible evidence of just how scarce resources are becoming,” said Peter Zieher, marketing manager. “Drinking water supplies are also under threat on a global scale. For Freudenberg, developments like these are reason enough to treat available resources, like fibers, energy and water with especial care.
That's why we're relying on innovative, environmentally friendly technologies, like, for example, water jet bonding with its closed water circulation system."
The new Vilene ECO 823 and 825 styles are included in the ecological interlining range and consist of Tencel fibers, which are mechanically bonded by means of environmentally friendly water entanglement. Vilene ECO interlinings can be used for small-area and large-area fusing in women’s wear for blouses, dresses and blazers.
For front fusing in menswear, Freudenberg offers the new Vilene Powerbamboo 75, a bi-elastic, medium-weight woven interlining (70 gpsm) of 100% bamboo viscose. It is especially suitable for the classical business jacket.
Vilene Cotton 75 is a new, binder-bonded wadding made of 100% cotton, which complies with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Cotton 75 excels thanks to its soft handle, outstanding volume-weight balance and sheer washability.
