Batson Group, Inc., an affiliate of Louis P. Batson Company, announced an exclusive agreement yesterday to represent Pistoia, Italy-based TECHNOplants S.r.l. Batson Group will sell TECHNOplants' complete line of nonwoven and ancillary equipment in the U.S. and Canada. TECHNOplants s.r.l. is a leader in the construction of high quality cutting, winding, stacking and wrapping equipment. Its machines can be found on all five continents.
Since its founding in 1984, TECHNOplants S.r.l. has been focused on meeting the needs of textile manufacturers, particularly in the nonwoven industry. Starting with the construction of crosslappers for the local market, company founder Marco Gualtieri soon understood that building ancillary equipment to automate the end-of-the-line process would enable the company to separate itself from other suppliers of nonwovens equipment. In this context the first fully automatic and winding unit for needlepunched nonwovens was built. This equipment was ideal for industries that produce geotextiles.
