Last month Hampton, NH-based Foss Manufacturing Company launched a state-of-the-art needlepunch line designed and built by Erko-Trützschler. State and local dignitaries attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony held to celebrate the unveiling of the new machine. New Hampshire governor John Lynch gave a champagne toast and helped Foss CEO A.J. Nassar cut the ribbon draped on the new machine.
Governor Lynch also named Foss the winner of the “Innovation Rocks” program created by the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development's Business
Resource Center. Foss was recognized for its Fosshield product line, which safely and naturally inhibits the growth of destructive bacteria, and is also effective against some viruses. Other distinguished guests included former governor Gene Shaheen and CEO of American Trützschler, Kurt Scholler.
The new machinery is expected to ensure Foss’ place as a leader in the nonwovens industry by increasing the company’s productivity and efficiencies. “The superior quality from the new line will catapult us into the future via the use of finer denier fiber and lighter weight fabrics. It will also allow us to maximize the exciting potential of our two key technologies, Eco-fi fibers and Fosshield antimicrobial fabrics," said David Rowell, executive vice president of
sales at Foss.
