Brazilian nonwovens producer Companhia Providenical dedicated its newest nonwovens production line in São Jose dos Pinhais, Brazil last month. The event was attended by local politicians, corporate investors, company officials and the former Providencia owners. This new line—the compay’s tenth—will focus on high quality hygiene products as well as advanced medical fabrics.
In other news, Companhia Providencia has added a medical fabrics division to its already existing areas of hygiene, industrial, and agricultural. This new division has been developed to take advantage of the newest production line as well as the company’s existing capabilities in cast films, breathable films, printing, and laminating. During the last six months, Providencia has developed certified blood and viral barrier products that pass ASTM F-1670 and ASTM F-1671 standards, as well as SMS products that have received European certifications for EN 13795-2, EN 868-2, and EN ISO 11607-1.
