In the closest voting in the seven-year history of the contest, Kimberly-Clark last week received the 2008 Visionary Award for its new SpaSensials at-home spa treatment product. More than 300 attendees at VISION 2008 Consumer Products Conference, organized by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, heard presentations from six finalists for the award and then voted on the recipient during the three-day event. Vision 2008 was held February 12-14 in Fort Worth, TX.
Targeted at women 40-plus, SpaSensials are an at-home spa-like treatment consisting of intensive moisturizing and conditioning socks and gloves. Advanced technology helps the intensive conditioning formula in SpaSensials products to quickly and effectively absorb into the skin. The nonwoven material keeps moisturizers on the inside, next to the skin.
“This Award and the quality of the other finalists shows everyone the great potential of nonwoven fabrics in consumer products and we are quite proud of this recognition,” said, K-C’s Jack Elliott, who accepted the award on behalf of the Kimberly-Clark team at VISION 2008
“We had a diverse and impressive collection of six finalists for the 2008 Visionary Award and all of them were winners by making it this far in the process,” added INDA’s Michael Jacobsen, project coordinator for the Visionary Award program. “Our congratulations go out to Kimberly-Clark and all of the finalists for this recognition.” The other five finalists were: Covidien’s Curity Brand Nursing Pad, Do-Rite Disposable Dog Diapers, PowerTex Glass Cleaner from Eco-Lab, OMop Dry Sweeper Cloths from Method Products and consumer shopping bags, manufacturerd by India’s Reliance Industries.
Vision 2009 will be held January 26-29, 2009 at the Sheraton New Orleans Canal Street, site of the original VISION Conference in 2002. For more information on the Visionary Awards, contact Mike Jacobsen, mjacobsen@inda.org.
