Ahlstrom Raises Food Packaging Prices

Ahlstrom today announced price increases on its nonwoven food packaging products.

Ahlstrom today announced price increases on its nonwoven food packaging products. The price increases will be on average 8-12% depending upon the individual products. According to the company, the price increase is a result of the escalation in raw material and energy costs, many of which have reached record levels. The products affected are infusion materials, such as tea bag materials and coffee pod filter papers as well as reinforcements used in fibrous meat casings.

The timing of the increases will depend on the nature of the products, existing contracts and invoicing currencies. The detailed actions will be discussed with customers through the appropriate business teams.
