Film and release paper supplier Loparex Group has expanded its joint venture operations in India. The expansion program will increase Kaygee-Loparex's production capacity and is expected to enable better customer service in the domestic Indian market and other sub-continental, African and Middle Eastern areas.
Established in 2001, Kaygee-Loparex India Pvt Ltd is a 50/50 joint venture between Loparex Group and the Godha family. The production unit is located in Silvassa, some 180 kilometers north of Mumbai. Kaygee-Loparex manufactures siliconized release paper and films for self-adhesive labelstock, holograms, tattoos, double-sided tapes, feminine hygiene products, medical products, packaging and other end uses. The substrate range is wide and several different silicone types and curing methods are available.
"We have decided to expand our production capacity in India to better satisfy our customers' needs in this region, especially in thinner paper and film grades," explained Pentti Kallio, Loparex Group CEO. "This expansion program will include the installation of new production lines and auxiliary equipment. Also, the plant premises in Silvassa will be expanded to accommodate the new machinery." The new equipment is planned to be operational by early 2009.
