Influenced by tax credits and incentives, Colbond has decided to expand its Asheville, NC nonwovens production facility by adding 20 jobs and $7million in equipment. The Netherlands-based company chose to expand in Asheville, over its Obernberg, Germany site, after state and local leaders in North Carolina offered it more than $700,000 in tax credits during the next seven years.
Company executives said the expansion would largely serve the booming geosynthetic market and the new equipment would make roof vents for houses and matting to soundproof upscale condominium floors.
