Andritz Küsters has formed an agreement with Pill Nassvliestechnik for the sale, production and installation of wetlaid nonwovens lines. The agreement will combine Andritz Küsters’ competence in pulp, fibers and tissues with Pill’s experience in wetlaid technology. “The integration of the Pill technology complements our successful product program in calender and wet finishing technology in a perfect way,” said Andreas Lukas, head of Andritz Küsters Nonwovens. “The technological know-how of the Pill Company and synergies within the Andritz Group now open doors and offer our customers interesting comprehensive solutions for the production of wetlaid nonwoven.”
The core of Pill’s wetlaid technology is the combination of headbox and inclined wire parts. This knowledge will strengthen the Küsters team in engineering, process technology and installation of new ranges, upgrades and modifications with immediate effect.
“Through flexibility, innovation and cooperation, we are now in a position to offer our worldwide customers individual solutions and project support—right from the very first basic trials down to final delivery of a range. By cooperating with Andritz Küsters I can now narrow down my focus even more as to the needs of our mutual customers in the field of process technology,” said Pill CEO Helmuth Pill. “Comprehensive know-how in the nonwoven market and dialogue with customers allows us to offer or jointly develop customized products for each product and each application.”
As a result of this cooperation, a wetlaid nonwovens lab will be added to the Andritz Küsters Nonwoven Technical Center.
