Building on the success of its first Neumag Sauer line, Italian nonwovens producer Albis SpA has unveiled plans to expand its spunbond capacities and has ordered a second Neumag spunbond plant. The line features a three-beam SMS (spunbond/meltblown/spunbond) configuration and bicomponent capability.
According to Albis, with a production width of seven meters, the new line will represent the world’s widest spunbond line. The company’s first installation, which came onstream in 2005, comprises two beams, a meltblown unit, bicomponent capability and a production width of five meters.
