Ahlstrom will close down its Nümbrecht, Germany plant by April 2007. The move will affect 37 employees and result in a non-recurring cost of approximately €2.5 million in Ahlstrom's third quarter results. The closure supports Ahlstrom's strategy of improving its profitability by a number of actions, including closing down non-competitive manufacturing units. The Nümbrecht plant is focused on the production of wallpaper base paper.
