The Freudenberg Politex Group officially celebrated the opening of its new production site in Zavolzhie, in the Nizhniy Novgorod region of Russia, on September 12. The production line installed in the new plant will produce up to 11,000 tons of polyester staple nonwovens per year, which will be sold as backing to bituminous roofing membranes manufacturers. Most of the output will cover the demand of the Russian market, where Freudenberg Politex has been already operating for more than 10 years. The facility represents a total investment of €15 million.
“In the last few years we had the chance to deepen our knowledge of the country of Russia and above all to be able to appreciate its qualities, strengthening our relationships with first-level Russian partners, said group president Riccardo Sollini. “I think that this is an important step for our Group, part of a global strategy that includes other important ongoing and future investments.” The facility will initially employ 40 workers.
