Mogul Nonwovens, a Turkish roll goods producer, is building a new facility on a 23,000 square meter land parcel located three kilometers away from its existing plant in Gaziantep, Turkey. The facility will house a number of new machines including two new meltblown lines, a welding machine, a coater and a laminator, which will enhance Mogul's existing business and allow its entry into new markets.
The two new meltblown lines will each be 1600 mm wide and able to produce 1000 metric tons of capacity. One will come onstream in December or January, and the other will follow in February or March. The lines will increase Mogul's role in the filtration market and allow it to use different polymers such as polyester-based PBT, PE and elastomeric tpu, which will enhance Mogul's offerings to wipes products and composite fabrics. Meanwhile, the welding machine will be able to weld up to 16 meters and five layers to develop crop covers for the agricultural market, and the coating and laminating lines will improve Mogul's flexibily in making composite layers with a range of barrier products such as stiffness, flame retardancy, water repellency and anti-statics.
“By adding value to existing products, we want to develop new products and markets and try to keep competitive edge in industry and strengthen our position in market by being one-stop shop for various nonwovens needs,” explained Serkan Gogus, commercial director.
