Ahlstrom will invest approximately €38 million in a new glassfiber tissue production plant in Russia. The investment further strengthens Ahlstrom’s position as a leading developer and manufacturer of specialty glass fiber tissue for the building and composite materials industries and is in line with Ahlstrom’s strategy to invest in organic growth in emerging markets.
The new plant, located in Redkino, Tver Region, approximately 120 kilometers from Moscow, will initially concentrate in specialty glassfiber tissue production but will eventually incorporate additional technologies to let other Ahlstrom divisions expand in Russia. The new plant will be operational during the fourth quarter of 2007.
