German machinery provider Fleissner has sold four AquaJet Spunlace systems throughout the world. In the U.S., the company has contracted a 3.6-meter, 12,000 ton-per-year spunlace line for the carded wipes market. This line is expected to start up at the end of 2006. Another line, with a capacity of 5000 tons per year mainly for the wipes and medical markets, has been sold in the Middle East. Construction on this new line is about to begin.
Meanwhile, in China for New Tsongtsien, Fleissner is adding a 2.5-meter, 5000-ton-per-year line intended for plain and apertured webs for wipes, hygiene and medical applications.
A new line with a working width of 4.5 meters has been ordered for a new generation of nonwoven products. A heavy-duty AquaJet Spunlace line and a high-capacity Fleissner TAD through-air drum dryer will be used to produce a new technology spunlace web. This machine will be installed in Europe.
Fleissner executives said that more AquaJet spunlace lines featuring composite technology are expected to be planned this year. These machines produce composite wipes made from carded/airlaid layers or spunbond/airlaid layers used mainly as three-layer composites for wipes, medical, sanitary, cosmetic and hospital use.
