Asahi-Dorlastan Deal Complete

Asahi Kasei Fibers Corporation has finalized its agreement with Lanxess for the purchase of the Dorlastan Spandex business. The Dorlastan acquisition will allow  AKF to strengthen its position as a leading manufacturer of synthetic elastic fibers and expand its geographical presence. The agreement includes Dorlastan production facilities in Dormagen, Germany and Bushy Park, SC. Asahi Kasei Fibers currently operates plants in Taiwan, China and Thailand. The acquisition also broadens the company’s product portfolio, combining the advanced Roica technologies with the established values of Dorlastan, according to executives.
