Just weeks after the Time of London reported that rival Polymer Group Inc. was in negotiations to buy rival BBA Fiberweb’s nonwovens business, the Daily Telegraph is reporting that BBA is favoring a demerger of the division over a sale or trade. BBA, which also provides refuelling, cargo handling, maintenance, ground handling and other services to the business and commercial aviation markets, put Fiberweb, the world’s fourth largest nonwovens producer, on the selling block in late 2005. The report cited unnamed sources saying that BBA has decided to opt for a demerger and flotation of the business because that option provided better value for the company.
