Ahlstrom Continues To Invest In Filtration

Ahlstrom Corporation has announced its second filtration-related acquisition this week. The Helsinki, Finland-based company will acquire FiberMark’s North American absorbent materials business to help it grow in specialty filtration markets. The business will be integrated into Ahlstrom’s existing product offering supplied from its Mt. Holly Springs, PA site. Earlier this week, Ahlstrom announced it would buy Lantor Inc.’s filtration business including operations in Bellingham, MA and Wuxi, China. The Lantor buy will reinforce Ahlstrom’s position in the automotive and air filtration markets through additional needlepunch nonwovens capacity.
