Playtex Will Stay In Delaware

December 12, 2005

Playtex Products will partner with the State of Delaware to maintain its Dover site, which has been operational since 1937. The Dover site manufactures Playtex tampons and Drop-In’s disposable bottle insert liners and contains administrative offices. The partnership with the state of Delaware will allow the company to become more competitive globally while remaining in Dover, said president and chief executive officer Neil DeFeo. The partnership includes up to $40 million in grants for job retention, associate training, capital investments and research and development. In exchange, Playtex has agreed to maintain a minimum employment level of 630 full time associates in Dover at least through the five-year grant period. The Dover site currently employs 700 workers.
