Nahar Spinning Mills, an Indian producer of wovens, is planning to add nonwovens production to its repertoire through the establishment of a spunlace line in Mandideep, Bhopal. The new line is expected to come online next year when it will target mainly European and American markets where the cost of nonwovens production is significantly higher than in India, according to reports.
This investment follows an announcement earlier this year by Indian textile producer Ginni Filaments to build a spunlace line in India. Until these two new lines come online, India has limited nonwovens production but some experts expect it to become a major player in the industry in upcoming years.
