Avgol, a manufacturer of spunbond and spunbond-meltblown-spunbond (SMS) nonwoven materials for use in hygiene, healthcare, construction, agriculture and furniture, is expanding its U.S. operations with a further investment of NIS 135 million. This is the second expansion of its North Carolina facilities.

Avgol will boast a capacity of approximately 45,000 tons of material per year after completion of the project. The company is expected to reach sales of more than $150 million in 2005. Avgol received grants from a fund in North Carolina to promote the project, as well as from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
