Athea Laboratories Makes Acquisition

Athea Laboratories, Inc., a Milwaukee, WI-based wet wipes and specialty chemical manufacturer, has recently obtained the assets of Converted Products' wipes division. The recent move is expected to expand the capabilities of Athea's wipes division to include canisters, peel and reseal flat packs, flat pack tubs and single foil packs. By expanding the wipes division, Athea expects to provide an even wider array of wipe products and container options for customers in the broadening wipe and towelette market. In light of the acquisition, Athea will be combining its two wet wipes production facilities into a new 120,000 square foot facility to house a total of seven perforator machines, three wet wipe flat pack lines and five canister filling lines. Transplant of Athea Laboratories two wet wipes production divisions into the new facility is scheduled for mid-summer of this year. The new division will be known as Athea Packaging.
