The Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART)

The Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART) elected a new president, vice president and several new members to its board of directors at the association’s annual meeting held recently in Miami Beach. Norm Manning of Leggett & Platt in Nashville and William Schapiro of Whitehouse & Schapiro in Owings Mills, MD were elected president and vice president. Both will serve a one-year term and are eligible for reelection.

Members elected to serve on the board were Joe Gartland, The L.L. Clean Co., Gibbsboro, NJ; Hal Kanefsky, A&B Wiper Supply, Inc., Philadelphia; Lucas Galvan, Los Amigos Distribution Center, Laredo, TX; Aquil Khandwala, American Rags, Inc., Houston; Robert Travis, E. Butterworth & Co., Inc., Dracut, MA; Robert Woycke, Continental Textile Co., Milwaukee.
