PPS Multifilament

November 30, -0001

Ticona has developed Fortron, a PPS multifilament that is 40% stronger than previously available products. Since its strength is above 60 cN/tex, it is classified as a high-tenacity PPS multifilament, which opens up new application opportunities. Potential new market segments for Fortron multifilaments are applications in which PET materials cannot meet the high heat or chemical resistance requirements, or in which m-aramid filaments have inadequate strength and resistance or hydrolysis. In the form of nonwovens and films, PPS is increasingly being used together with other materials for reinforcement purposes and processed into complex components.
