The performance film division of Avery Dennison has released a textured laminate that gives the look and feel of metal stamped finishes and dimensional technical patterns, providing vehicle manufacturers with increased design options to customize their interiors with textured effects and colors. The new laminate can currently be seen in the 2005 Nissan Altima SD interior, on the center console, instrument panel and door spears.
Textured laminates help round out a diverse automotive product portfolio including Avloy paint film for exterior trim, Thermark TX, acrylic-based clear coat and Thermark TU vinyl-based clear coat. Unlike metal trim, which may require a separate tool to achieve basic texture, Avery Dennison’s new product can be produced without modifying existing tooling at an overall lower cost using the insert film process. Currently, it meets the performance requirement of all OEMs. Telephone: 248-458-3836.
