Bonar has acquired Texiplast, a Slovakian company once known as the Geosynthetics division of Kordarna. A manufacturer of an extensive range of woven and knitted geosynthetic products used for the construction and maintenance of retaining walls, landfills, fords, highways, airports and railways, Texiplast is mainly active in the Central European and former Soviet markets but also has an established customer base in South America, Africa and Australia. Its product range extends the existing Bonar geosynthetics product range with high tenacity products in the reinforcement segment.
The acquisition of Texiplast perfectly fits our civil strategy," says manging director Orwig Speltdoom. "With its strong presence in the fast growing Eastern European market and its extensive geosynthetics range, Texiplast will enlarge and strengthen our product offering and position it in the global civil market."
