Acrylic Copolymers

November 30, -0001

Bridgewater, NJ-based Vinamul Polymers, a business unit of National Starch and Chemical Company, has been issued a U.S. patent for the use of acrylic copolymers that add abrasiveness to nonwoven wipes. The product, Nacrylic ABX-30 acrylic polymer meets growing consumer demand for abrasive, scrubbing and scouring wipes in household and personal care applications and in the institutional, food service and industrial markets. The polymer’s abrasive qualities are derived from the polymer itself, which contains no hard particulates or post-added grit, making it safe on any surface.  In addition, the polymer provides wipes with high wet strength, cationic disinfectant capability and a durable hard surface cleaning capability.
