Materials Applications Lab
Chase Machine & Engineering’s Application Lab is a private, confidential environment that is available to customers for product and process development. Through the years, as a core element to machine design, product development and process feasibility, lab research has proven to be invaluable in developing new designs in virtually every industry. Customers recognize that benchmark testing and pilot line development work results in superior products and allows critical market studies to be completed before an investment in capital equipment is made.
The Materials Application Lab is routinely made available at Chase’s Rhode Island facility for product development work. The combination of Chase lab’s Technical Support Staff, with over 50 years of machine and product development experience, along with an array of pilot line equipment, leads to the creation of newer, faster, more efficient, and reliable production equipment.
Engineering
Chase’s Engineering Department consists of engineers and designers with diversified experience in all types of continuous web applications. The machines, which are designed and manufactured, may have extreme web-handling challenges, such as webs with free spans of 180” in width or 200 or more individual webs of 0.020 diameter being wound onto one core under very tightly controlled tension. Extreme environmental issues such as web treatment processes that must take place in a vacuum, in low moisture or high-temperature atmospheres, are also within Chase’s capabilities. The ability to overcome numerous challenges has resulted in Chase adopting the tag line, “Expect to be Impressed.” Customers, through their long term relationships, have shown they are impressed!
Manufacturing
In-house manufacturing capabilities include sheet metal fabrication, welding, custom painting, on-site production testing and verification. Machinist and assembly personnel work closely with engineers and designers, offering their valuable experience to ensure ease of maintenance and machine reliability.
Manufacturing processes are tracked and updated in real time. Customers can be given up-to-the-minute status reports on in-process machines. Chase’s IT system is specifically designed for mixed mode manufacturing facilities and provides total control over the manufacturing process along with CADKEY and SolidWorks integration.
