Glass Nonwovens


Ahlstrom’s Glass Nonwovens business serves markets for reinforcements, specialty reinforcements and glass tissues. The products are roll goods, produced mainly from Ahlstrom’s own glass fibers, and customers use them in several applications, such as vinyl floorings, windmill blades, boats and yachts and transportation.     

Ahlstrom is a leading supplier of high performance fiber-based materials, including nonwovens and specialty papers. Products developed, produced and marketed by us are used around the world in numerous everyday products, including filters, medical apparel, wipes, flooring, labels and tapes. We have a strong market presence in several areas, built on over 150 years of fiber expertise, innovation and long-term customer relationships.

In March 2006 Ahlstrom brought to an end over 150 years of private family ownership when it was successfully listed on the Helsinki stock exchange.  In total, some 9.15 million shares were offered to investors at an initial subscription price of EUR 22 and was heavily oversubscribed.
